FEAR is the Boogieman

“Fear is not real. It is a product of thoughts you create. Danger is very real. But fear is a choice.”
 – Will Smith

In order to be successful in life and business you have to be FEARLESS.

Life is filled with bad things that can happen, but you should never focus on the possibility of those things happening as that fear is just prohibiting you from achieving your dreams.  You see, when you remove fear from your life your brain makes a switch. It starts using that power and energy to focus on possibilities and strategies in order to achieve greatness verses potential negative outcomes.

Let’s use an example. Say you are about to sign a new lease for a larger office space that gives you some room to grow and will be an impressive space to attract higher paying clients. If you focus on fear (What if we don’t make enough new sales, what will the extra electric and cleaning cost be, Will we have to spend thousands on new furniture, etc…) then you have let fear win. I get depressed and worn out just typing that.

With this type of thinking you will never start growing and taking action. You will be frozen in your own form of mental torture and will not be able to make the rent because fear won.

If you remove fear completely your brain will think like this (I hope we got enough space, that multi-million dollar deal we have always wanted will happen in that new conference room, with all this new space we can hire 4 more sales folks and increase our revenue by 30%, HELL, we may be able to buy the entire building).

It’s the exact same situation in both examples, but two different mindsets.

In my life I would never be where I am today if I was not FEARLESS.

I remember in the second business I owned with my business partner we decided it was time to think BIGGER and expand our business to a legit office in downtown Dallas.  When we signed the 7-year lease commitment it was 10X more than all the revenue we did in the previous year. You want to talk about a situation where fear could have made an appearance! LOL.

I never focused on the fear of not paying or making it, but only on what needed to happen in order to grow and be successful. I replaced fear with action. It was one of the best decisions of my life and put me on a course towards financial freedom, which I achieved.

The moral of the story is to kill fear, it will never help but only hurt you.

I am going to give you 6 steps that will help you start to remove fear from your life permanently.

6 Steps to overcome fear:

  1. Contextualize it
“If it scares you, it might be a good thing to try.” ― Seth Godin
  1. Determine whether its real
“Fear is a question: What are you afraid of, and why? Just as the seed of health is in illness, because illness contains information, our fears are a treasure house of self-knowledge if we explore them.” ― Marilyn Ferguso
  1. Educate yourself
“Fears are educated into us, and can, if we wish, be educated out.” — Karl Augustus Menninger
  1. Visualize success
“By visualizing your goal already completed, you flip your mind onto the frequency that contains the way that it will be attracted to you.” — Bob Proctor.
  1. Approach it head-on
“The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” — Nelson Mandela
  1. Take Action
“Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.” — Dale Carnegie

Remember, FEAR is the Boogieman and FEAR and the Boogieman are not real. So, change your mindset, remove fear and go WIN in your life and your business.

BE FEARLESS and CHARGE FORWARD!
